Plot

This video is part of an eight-volume PBS series, hosted by journalist Bill Moyers, that profiles some of America's leading modern poets. The writers share with Moyers the events and influences in their lives that inform their work. In this episode, the lives and writings of two very political poets are featured. Gary Snyder has been a clarion for the environmental movement, and Daisy Zamora's works speak of the tragedy of civil war in Nicaragua. The authors read selections from their poetry.
