As the critics point out, this film has a lot of political overtones relevant to post 9/11. Russel Crowe's Ed Hoffman represents the Democratic Party: Fat, dispassionate, manipulative, heartless, using people for their own gain, their 'means justify the ends' attitude. DiCaprio represents the Republican Party - doing what is best for their country, caring about the future of the people in the middle east, freeing the Afghanistans from the cruel rule of Al Qeda, and freeing Iraq from a cruel dictator who used weapons of mass destruction to kill over a million people in his own country (mostly Kurds), And our Republican soldiers fighting the evil terrorists so well depicted in the movie, rebuilding their hospitals and schools, allowing females to be educated once again, and handing out care packages to the needy, and ... oops, sorry, I'm just mimicking the critics who seem to get validation for their world from directors who make their fiction films based on the same shared worldview. Circular reasoning all around. As for the movie, DiCaprio was great, the nurse played a solid role as did Hanni the Jordanian. I love Russel Crowe movies but he was simply boring and out of place in this movie. The movie overall is ok, so I will give it three stars.

I thought this was a great movie that held your attention completely the entire time. I was on the edge of my seat. If think DeCaprio did an excellent job and Crowe was amazing as I didn't even recognize him. The movie was very real and very posssible. I have seen it twice and feel more people need to see it to wake up.

What I want in my movies is a real live suspension of disbelief. I want to watch and not be distracted by anything not part of the story. I want to enjoy the craftwork of actors and film makers, but not be distracted by it. Body of LIes did that for me nicely. Professional critics are not giving this film it's due... maybe because it hits the CIA and our whole premise for being in the middle east pretty hard. The film is a modern middle east snapshot of our top government spooks interacting with their top government spooks, and who gets caught in the middle, plus lots of high tech underlying it all, and it left me with a sense of the reality of the story- which is all I could ask.

DiCaprio and Crowe were both excellent. The fact that Crowe gained 60 pounds for his role once again shows his dedication. This film is very intense and changes directions many times. The name is appropriate but not for the reason you may think before seeing it. I heartily recommend it.

Niemsong: This seems like an inappropriate forum in which to propagate such half-witted assertions concerning September 11th. Save the deep thought for your journal and stick to reporting on your matinee investment!

Exciting from beginning to end. A fast-paced action movie showing the Mid-East from a more realistic perspective that the Media could or would ever reveal to Americans. Superb acting by DiCaprio and Crowe. Due to the speed of direction changes in the story, the movie is probably not as enjoyable for folks who aren't multi-taskers at heart. Personally, I loved it and so did my son.

Great movie !! Great acting, intense and realistic action sequences, very engaging story line, no pointless sex scenes, there was fair bit of cursing but not over the top. Best action thriller since borne ultimatum. Not once was I bored in this movie, story line keeps changing and evolving at a fast pace which demands your full attention.
