  • Boy Meets Girl is a funny and touching comedy/drama boasting a superlative debut performance by Michelle Hendley. show more

  • The profoundly sensitive, often wryly funny look at friendship, romance, sexual attraction and gender identity carries themes and dynamics that feel as timeless as they do up-to-the-minute. show more

  • Placing sex and gender identity at the center of almost every conversation, the writer and director, Eric Schaeffer, is so keen to demythologize that the film’s potentially most affecting moments are too often smothered by the hackneyed characters and setups that surround them. show more

As a woman of trans experience myself, this story is delightful, uplifting, and perhaps the most authentic portrayal of a vibrant young trans woman I have seen captured on film. The acting is spectacular, most notably the leading lady - Michelle Hendley - who brings overt courage and charisma to the role. This movie is, at its heart, an inclusive love story that gets you rooting for the right people which compels its audience to see way beyond stereotypes from the beginning, perhaps even faster than the people on the screen. You do not need to be queer or trans to appreciate this movie, though if you are it might just make you cry a little extra. You just need to be a human, and this should be required viewing for all humans, because you will walk out being a better human for having seen it.
