Breach is a very good movie.I did not care that it did not have a lot of action.Though I thought they should have showed the live footage at the end.Overall it was great.

okay the critics loved this movie. If you like action, forget this picture. See it on dvd and save yourself some money. The acting is good but that's it. There's no suspense at all. Enough said!

Breach is the worst movie my wife and I have seen in years. Hanson is portrayed as a practicing Catholic and the movie spends most of the time using anti-Catholic suggestions such as the implication that his catholicism somehow has caused him to become a traitor. The movie never mentions the fact that the Catholic Church is probalby the most Anti-Communist institution in the world and Communism is Godless so why would a practicing Catholic like Hanson be supporting the Communists by giving them our secrets. It makes not sense unless you have an agenda against the Catholic Church. The producer uses a photographer who is gay to make an indirect comment against the beliefs of the Catholic Church through Hanson. Whether it is about the remarks made by the wife of the agent spying on Hanson about Hanson's wife and the amount of children she has or Hansan's comments about women wearing pants to imply that the Catholic Church suppress women. Here is a man who is a sexual pervert, lies, steals, betrays his country and helps the Communists but he is presented as a practicing Catholic who is a religious fanatic and somehow this has caused him to do these things. What he does is totally against the beliefs of the Catholic Church. It is just another Anti-Catholic Hollywood movie besides being BORING.

As a rule I don't go to see films based on true stories because they tend to be boring. To me it's like taking a page from a newspaper and dramatizing it. However, I forced myelf to go see Breach and as I expected, it was okay, but it would've been better as a made-for-TV movie.

Watching this movie was fun as you tried to guess what would happen next. The problem is that nothing happened next. It was the wrong part of this character's life that is portrayed in the firm. The It would be much more interesting to see how he became a Soviet spy. His actual capture makes for a rather dull pic.

I love these kind of movies but would have enjoyed it a whole lot more had it not been for the overhead microphone showing up so much. I lost count as to how many times it occurred. I was so turned off by it that I almost decided to leave the movie and get a refund. At one point I actually thought the audience was being punked. I cannot believe that a movie of this quality was actually allowed to be released to the public. It was like a draft of the movie. To me it really took away from the rest of the movie, which I thought was not too bad. Whenever I reflect on this movie, it is, unfortunately, only the reoccurring microphone that stays with me, nothing else.

I saw BREACH last night at the Carmike in AV, MN. I thought it was the worst movie i have EVER seen, because for several minutes in the middle of the film, there was conspicuously present at the top of the screen microphones and even the boom. I thought it was a joke. Could it be that ONLY this theatre had a bad edit of the film? I can't believe any credible studio would release this film, or that any critic would recommend it given these ridiculous and obvious flaws. Well, it completely ruined the film. If anyone can explain, please let me know: perfeser2000@yahoo.com.

The movie was advertised as a thriller, but there were no thrills, no tension, no excitement, some drama, and deception as potrayed by several characters. We know from the beginning that Robert Hanssen is the traitor and he gets caught and jailed. What is shown in the film is trite information leading up to Robert Hanssen's arrest. This movie could have been more interesting were the director able to reveal the psyche of Robert Hanssen as to what motivated him to become an agent and eventually turn into a traitor and knowingly cause great harm to our country and our agents. The director, clearly aware that something is missing, that he can't provide the WHY???, admits, through Hanssen, at the very end that he has no idea why Robert Hanssen did what he did? The acting was very good, but the events in the movie were trite. As a minor aside to this review, I found it odd that the director took a potshot at Kenneth Star by implying he was a deviant for looking into President Clinton's sexual affair with 23 year old White House intern Monica Lewinski (Blue Dress), but then labels Robert Hanssen as a sexual deviant for his sex fantasies about his wife and videotaping sex with her. Hollywood definitely has a double standard when it comes to morality. Finally, Catholics may view this film as somewhat anti-Catholic. We learm more about Catholicism than we do about Hanssen.

I haven't seen a movie of this caliber in a long, long time. Well crafted, well acted; the movie was truly a reward after years of miserable cinema.Chris Cooper is an extremely competent actor and I hope he appears in more movies. This one of those rare moments when I don't feel like I was gyped out of my money.
