Brideshead Revisited was a lousy movie! It was a waste of time and money. It was anti anything happy, anti love, anti marriage, anti ...It is sad that Emma Thompson participated in this one. Not her usual caliber of movie. It also should have been an R rated movie. JUNK!

Can anyone tell me the location of the movie? Was it filmed where the TV series was?

Can anyone tell me where the movie was filmed. Was it in the same house that the TV series was filmed?

I thought this movie was great, considering what has been out lately. The comment from CERTIORIO sums it up well. Only disagree not to expect some beautiful photography. I thought the cinemaphotography was very well done.

Is this movie worth watching? Yes, if you enjoy literature. No if you expect handsome men in dinner jackets, beautiful photography, and mid-war England to add up to another Atonement. This is not a romantic movie. The themes are serious and you do not leave the theater with a feel good glow but with the deeper reward of seeing something worth contemplating both visually and intellectually. The themes could leave some viewers pensive or uncomfortable if they have unresolved religious or homosexual issues. Brideshead stirs passions from fans of previous dramatizations and the original novel who are critical of this production but if you set these aside and watch this movie as a stand-alone you will see much that is good. However it will never delight the multiplex crowd. It is literary in length and treatment. You have to be a PBS classic drama buff or above to get it.

Save your time and money. i just watched the 1981 version. Jeremy Irons, Anthony Andrews, Diana Quick, John Gielgud, Lawrence Olivier. Sorry Emma, you're outclassed

Save your time and order the 1981 original from Netflix. The current cast pale in comparison to Jeremy Irons, Anthony Andrews, Diana Quick and Sir Laurence Olivier. The current Brideshead is a complete waste of Emma Thompson.

I am anxiously awaiting this movie. It is based on my favorite novel- one of the most beautiful stories ever written. I hope they can do it justice as they bring it to the big screen. I remember the mini-series 26 years ago starring Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews and it was fabulous! I'm hoping this will be equally as good.
