The storyline, the creativity, the excellent choreography, and excellent direction and performances make this movie one of the best... quot; out there. Christina did a wonderful and surprising job as a novice actor--what an excellent dancer and singer. I bypassed watching this movie many times because of movies like \"glitter\" and others; and I am so glad that I took the time to watch it. I have watched it 3 times. The dancers were wonderful. I was not aware that Christina could sing like that, where have I been to have missed her and now I am a fan, will purchase her music, the movie too.... Cher is a fighter in life, I became a fan of hers music, the person she have become later in my life and this movie proved me correct. I am a black woman in Philadephia who feel the same about Diana Ross and love Celine too. Full Review

It's big, perfectly cast and entertaining in every way, but more than that it feels like a generous public event.Full Review

Burlesque is a smart and sassy expedition back to MGM musicals under Arthur Freed, by way of Bob Fosse's jazz-style song-and-dance movies. Indeed, the film musical it most closely resembles is Fosse's "Sweet Charity."Full Review

Burlesque delivers eyeful after eyeful of rapid-fire opulence and spectacle. But its most memorable sight is the indelible image of one star taking flight, and another triumphantly staying put.Full Review

Burlesque is a preposterous and intermittently entertaining lesson in how to make a movie musical with a little brains and a lot of talent.Full Review

It's entertaining enough, like watching a celebrity workout film with a plot. But never once is it believable.Full Review
