i absolutely loved this movie. my friend and i went and purchased the soundtrack right after because we loved it so much! i love beyonce too so i thought i was be biased but she did a FANTASTIC job as Etta James! she was really raw & vulnerable and i loved it. This movie was also a history lesson for so many of us young african americans that don't know that we had a huge place in the founding of Rock & Roll. TWO THUMBS WAYYYYY UP FOR CADILLAC RECORDS!

I enjoyed the movie more than I thought. I like how they put all the social dynamics, gritty or not. I have so much more respect for Beyonce. I can actually say I saw her looking busted. I didn't know she had a hard singing range like in "All I could do was cry." She didn't lip sing according to the director, cast, and Adrian Brody.

Jeffrey Wright is always on point and this one is another gem. He must get an award for this. The whole cast did very well and I was left saying 'wow'! This was a great flick and an incredible point in music history, hell American History. So many talents flowed through that Chess Records, that's crazy. And the fact that a lot of people got rich off of black music, in very tough times, even 'swagger jacking' the great black artist illegally were all mentioned here. Gave a nice perspective about black music, in that era. Even today greedy execs try to buy new artists off with new cars, jewelry, etc instead of helping them get ahead financially and stay that way. I thought that was funny.

This is a wonderful film, the history of Rock & Roll that all who think they know Rock & Roll should see you will then KNOW where the Brits and White America learned to play R&R

This Movie Was one of the worst movies I have overseen , it was horribly edited the time line was at warp speed , overall delivery was confusing /not clear, acting was not acting it was mimicking.. just plan and simple a really bad movie - even lip syncing was off ... beyonce and her efforts at producing prove to fail once again, well at least her sugar daddy has real deep pockets !

Great movie! Beyonce did a great job...would have liked to have seen more about the great Chuck Berry! Hope Beyonce gets an Oscar nod for her portrayal of Etta James....the movie was well cast. Really enjoyable.
