Well intentioned but honestly the 2 leads, who are both talented, were like cardboard cutouts with little to do but demonstrate their repressed longing for one another.
A beautiful little gem of a movie. Romatic travelogue to Egypt with great acting by lead actor and actress. The culture , emotions, contemplation, romance, danger and mystique, music..is all a big pa... rt of why I enjoyed it. It is pure escapist entertinment and had a realistic ending. Just a nice film all together. Full Review
had a hard time not looking at my watch, and its only an hour and a half..good acting....but SLOW
unbelievablely slow .... bring something to read along with you! Also beware .. you must love love love looking at Patricia Clarkson's face ... because it is in every frame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ignore The Hollywood Reporter and Variety reviews. I saw this film last November at The American Film Market in Los Angeles. It is excellent ... a tender, yet mysterious and subdued romance set in C... airo. The cinematography is breahtaking and the dialogue and silent exchange between the actors beautiful and captivating. I kept waiting for its U.S. release, so I could FINALLY see it again. Full Review
