Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News

Though John Stockwell's action comedy is shamelessly derivative, his enthusiastic cast propels it much further than it should go. show more

    Todd McCarthy The Hollywood Reporter

This low-rent, R-rated "Rush Hour"-ish comic caper could have been several notches better with more charismatic leads and some dialogue upgrades but still would have felt like a genre hand-me-down. show more

It's simply one wearisome '90s crime-cinema cliché after another. show more

Inside the dreadful action comedy Cat Run, there are about three terrible action comedies struggling to get out. show more

    Los Angeles Times

Falls squarely into the a-family-needs-to-eat category, because there is a careless lack of attention about the whole thing, something that could be perceived as smugness if the film didn't feel so haphazard and lazy. show more

Janet McTeer, at least, delights as MI6's cruelly capable answer to Mary Poppins. She's a whiz at testicular vivisection, yet she still cannot save this film. show more

Stephen Holden The New York Times

An incoherent hybrid of buddy movie, "Girls Gone Wild" episode and James Bond spoof that employs cheap cinematic tricks like multiple split screens for no apparent purpose. show more

If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with genre baloney -- and enough shoplifted visual trickery to fill Quentin Tarantino's kitchen sink. show more

    Scott Tobias The A.V. Club

Words like "smug," "derivative," and "shallow" could all be fairly applied to the film, but as a piece of late-night exploitation, it delivers the violence and nudity with the regularity of an IV drip, and some familiar faces in the cast help class it up. show more

Simply terrible. Campy, but not funny. Grattuitous gore. A waste of time and money.

I watched CAT RUN twice this weekend and totally fell in love with Helen Bingham (Janet McTeer is completely fierce in this role). Though the pacing started off a tad slow, I thought the movie as a whole had a good balance of comedy and action, and once McTeer appeared, the film was golden. This is definitely a flick I\'ll see again in theaters and purchase on DVD.

At the least bit, one cannot help but saying this movie was entertaining. I saw it with some friends this past saturday adn we had some laughs and gross out moments but who hasnt seen a little blood before. The movie lacked direction, which is why im giving it a 3, but without that the movie was great.

Saw this one over the weekend without having heard, or seen, a single advertisement. For something with very little marketing i was impressed with the end result. While i can see what others are saying about the lack of direction, I feel the movie has enough comedy and action scenes to excite an audience of younger adults. The Janet McTeer character was a great portrayal of the prim and proper assassin you would never want to meet. I would reccomend this movie to anyone just to see McTeer\'s performance.

I went to see this movie today, just by chance, and was very impressed with the end result. I enjoy action thrillers, blood or no blood, and Cat Run def delivers a riveting performance.

While the character of Helena Bingham is simply amazing, that one character alone cannot put the film up to a 4 star rating. The marry poppins esque assassin does a great job carrying the movie throughout. The jokes were mediocre but enough to catch me smiling. The movie cannot figure out which direction it wants to go in, but, fix that and it becomes a definite four star flick for sure. Its good entertainment and thats why you go to the movies.
