    Peter Travers Rolling Stone

Pop-culture escapism can be thrilling when dished out by experts. Katniss is a character worth a handful of sequels. And Lawrence lights up the screen. You'll follow her anywhere. show more

    Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle

Best in its first hour, when it concentrates on the politics and the specific horrors of Panem. It becomes more conventional in the second half and loses steam, but it's always heading somewhere. show more

Crowd-pleasing and compelling, most of all because of its fiery, charismatic heroine. show more

The good news is it comes very close, and does it without sacrificing its soul. Despite its sense of been-here-slayed-that, director Francis Lawrence expertly delivers thrills, ideas and spectacle. show more

    Todd McCarthy The Hollywood Reporter

This is a safe, serviceable, carefully crafted action drama in which the subversive seeds planted in the first story take welcome root. show more

Steady-handed action is enough to elevate this film above its predecessor. show more

Everything that felt clumsy in The Hunger Games has been improved upon here. That's most apparent in the clarity of the action, but it also extends to how efficiently the film establishes so many new ensemble members. show more

Although I liked the first HG movie better, Catching Fire was still a solid movie that made me look forward to the next additions to the series.

If you saw the first movie then this is a waste of money and time. Nothing new and not as good.

This was an awesome movie. Haven\'t seen one this good in ages. Didn\'t see first one but bought it later and have watched it twice. Look forward to buying this one on DVD. Could have watched it forever. Anxious for #3. Five stars from me.

I LOVED this movie. Usually sequels are a huge let down. This one left me waiting anxiously for the continuation. I will gladly watch this movie again with people who haven\'t seen it yet.
