  • Buoyed by a Latin-flavored score and Favreau's knack for improv inspiration, Chef is the perfect antidote to Hollywood junk food. Like the best meals and movies, this irresistible concoction feels good for the soul. show more

  • Chef is the best thing he (Favreau) has ever done, as writer or director or actor. It's the sort of thing of beauty that filmmakers are ultimately remembered for. show more

  • A slow-cooked film that's one of the most heartwarming of the young year. show more

this movie took awhile to get going but truly worth the trip---many of the food prep scenes were very cool to watch and with some great supporting casting with the exception of Sofia Vergara's talent being wasted---Robert D and Bobby C were great in their roles--- B+

The 2014 "feel good" movie of the year! Absolutely loved this movie and it's happy, passionate message. It's a definite "go-see."

I saw this movie last week and I found the story to be entertaining. Overall, I liked the film with the exception of a part in the movie where they were loading the foodtruck and they needed the help of some "Cubans" that were seating enjoying a break. They get the attention of the Cubans by using very profane language and telling them that they were calling the INS if the didn't help. First of all, I am a CubanAmerican and I was insulted by the use of a very dirty word to call the'Cubans', as if we only respond to that kind of profanity. In addition, I dislike when all ethnic groups from the Caribbean, Central America, and South America are grouped together. We are not all the same. Also, Cubans have enjoyed, since the early '60s, immigration laws that make Cubans legal very quickly after arriving in the US, so the use of the threat of INS was a badly used generalization. I think more research needs to be done by the movie makers if they are going to use ethnic groups in their movies.
