This documentary presents the history of the widescreen process known as Cinerama, which became a movie sensation during the 1950s. Using three cameras to record and project its film, Cinerama gave viewers a panoramic experience at the theater, and many luminaries are on hand to attest to its magic, including director Joe Dante and film critic Leonard Maltin. The production succeeds in emulating the process through specially designed technology, giving viewers a sense of the Cinerama effect.
