ok the movie does look good but i am very disappointed with the way that it looks. the books were amazing and when i heard they were making a movie i was so excited but now with stuff like having larten be played by john c reilly which is a travesty he is no larten. i hate how they are making this a comical kids movie. darren doesnt want to be a vampire, he misses his family and friends and his old life. it really touched me how much pain he was going through especially when his family thinks he is dead. and who is this Rebbecca crap. Debbie is darrens love interest and she is black not white. the really only cool thing about this movie would probably be the cirque de freak workers. I loved it in the scene where you get to see corma limbs regrow her hand that was pretty cool. the rest looks childish and comical. the real Darren Shan probably hates it

They ruined this movie. I am sooo mad. Half the stuff in the movie never happened in the books. I just can't believe how much they changed. I kind of don't want to see it, since I feel like it will ruin the book series for me, since it looks so bad. They changed it to a kiddie movie.

I just saw it last night at a screening. It is highly entertaining, not to be taken so seriously. The best parts are that it is very comical, and graphics/ sounds are incredible. I am not familiar with the books. But I enjoyed it, it will be a great halloween movie, maybe not with really young kids as its pretty violent and sometimes sexual, but it is just a nonstop funny thrill ride! I won't spoil it, the ending is long, but so set up for a sequel so it needed to be. Very good though compared to what else is out there, and alot different from typical vampire movies, its not really even all about ************ it on the biggest screen you can , or IMAX.

I think I'm going to be really disappointed =/ and so will everyone else who has read and loved the whole series. Definitly should have kept it a horror and not tried to make it comical; it was commical on its on at random times in the books. I will still go see it in theaters, but I'm a little embarassed to take a friend who I've raved to about how good the series was, and then see a complete disaster of a film.

Wow , so much has changed from the books , but hell it still looks bad out , can't wait to see it . But seriously who the hell is the girl with the tail . This movie being based off some of the best books i have ever read i cant wait to see it. Im sure Darren Shan loves the movie and with new technoligy seen it necisary for a little change with the phone being in the coffin ... and possibly the chick with the tail is a new ad guy to throw us off or something ;-) ... HOPEFULLY ITS A GREAT MOVIE ... imma go see all of them to come... wheres it show him saying he is happy with the movie ?
