  • One difficulty with this film is that Doug is the least vital of the three main characters; he has mastered mildness as a second language. Another is the zone in which the film operates, equidistant between droll and dull. If that's a comfort zone for you, Cold Weather may be worth a look-see. show more

  • Unfortunately, the movie doesn't have enough going on to keep us engaged, but writer-director Aaron Katz has a confident style and a way with small moments. show more

  • Mumblecore meets Arthur Conan Doyle in the ambitious, if not always satisfying, Cold Weather. show more

I don'******* many independent films; this is exactly why. Sure, it was artistic, but some shots (at the beach, falls and overhead alley intro, to name 3) although beautifully filmed, failed to bring anything to the point of the film. What was the point? I'm from Portland, so I did enjoy the cinematography. ******************* been two days since I watched it, and I still don't get it. If you enjoy reading excruciatingly detailed books only to be told you can't *********, this movie might be for you.

This was honestly one of the worst movies I've seen in years. I was on the verge of walking out when it abruptly ended. It takes about 15 minutes of decent plot and drags it out over and agonizing hour and forty five minutes. Every single person leaving the theater felt the same way.
