This is the best animated movie i've seen in a long time. Its definetly not for todlers from ages 3 to7. This is totally oscar worthy.

Outstanding and clever, but not for small children. The stop action animation is awesome. If you're a connoisseur of over the top animation, with a unique storyline this film is for you.

Ok I am WARNING u this movie is flat out lame boring pointless god awful really it is......I seen people walk out people sleeping and heard people muttering this is boring, pathetic etc..... Im a huge movie watcher and take my word for it not even worth the dvd rental

I really wanted to like this movie, despite not really being a fan of Tim Burton's animated films; however after watching two thirds of it I could take no more and actually walked out. The final straw: the insanely inappropriate scene when a large woman with basketball-sized breast appears wearing nothing but bikini bottoms and two star fish which cover her nipples and areolae; the rest of her breasts being COMPLETELY BARE. The mom next to me tried not to spill her popcorn and drinks as she scrambled to cover the eyes of her two young sons. The scantily-clad character went in and out of the scene for about four long minutes, while parents gasped and shifted uncomfortably in their seats. I'm only 27 so I'm not some old-school conservative, but if I had brought young kids to the show (I saw it alone) I would have been furious that the filmmakers thought this scene was appropriate for young kids to be exposed to. Parents, SEE THIS MOVIE FIRST BEFORE YOU TAKE YOUR CHILDREN!!!

I saw it and loved it. It is well worth the money, but it does have a creepy story line. I can see this as an Academy Awards nomination next year. But it is not for kids under 10 years old.

my kids are 3,6,9 and 11 they liked it, i thought it was cute and thats all i really expect from a movie

I just saw it and would have to say it was a disappointment, even with low expectations to begin with. Unfortunately the theater I saw it in didn't have 3D but I doubt the effects could have helped the slow, childish, pointless plot. Not worth the $10 ticket price! :(

The book was twisted and perfectly writen. Selik is a genius! The movie was just as the book :) lil' miss Sararchia (posted comment) the movie was great! Did you even see the right movie?!

Ugh actually this movie looks amazing. I've read the book it was great. Also to Sarachia seriously use proper english it's garbage when you talk slang on places like these.
