We were planning on seeing the Pink Panther...but it was sold out. The next movie to play was Coarline. Rated PG. T took my 7 year old daughter and two of her friends planning on being a fun movie afternoon..This is a very disturbing film. They girls were horrified and constanty covering there faces. Sewing buttoms on to kids eyes and sewing there mouth is like a small glimpse of the movie series SAW. This a very night-marish movie for a youngester. ~New Jersey Pre School Teacher

Shouldnt the parents be more responsible for letting their kids see it before they preview it.

I absolutely loved this movie! The graphics were fantastic and I felt drawn into the story. My aunt also took my 8 and 6 year old cousins to see it and they loved it too. I think it just depends on the child if they would be frightened or not. Just do your research. Tim Burton is not in on happy films. Everyone knows that. Yes, it may have been freaky or scary, but it's just a story. I plan on seeing it again.

i haven't seen the movie yet but I really want to because I'm a fan of the Nightmare Before Christmas and dark stories such as this, but all of you parents, who are commenting based on the fact your child was scared from the movie is stupid, freaking research what your showing your child before going to see it, its obvious from the previews that it was going to be scary, and if you know your child is to immature to watch something like this DONT GO AND SEE IT!!!!! so think people, it's really NOT THAT HARD!!! I'm 16 and i even understand this! -__- I have gotten all great reviews from my friends, young and old about the movie and the original book, So i can't wait to go see it ^_^

I AM AN ADULT AND SAW THE MOVIE TODAY. THE THEATER WAS PACKED AS IT WAS A SCHOOL HOLIDAY. I FOUND THE MOVIE TO BE BIZARRE AND FRIGHTENING AND SAW NOTHING GOOD IN IT AT ALL. I WAS NOT IMPRESSED WITH CORALINE'S ACTIONS/REACTIONS TO HER PARENTS, FEELING THAT THIS WAS SENDING A NEGATIVE MESSAGE TO CHILDREN AND REINFORCING THEIR ALREADY DEFECTIVE RESPECT FOR PARENTS AND OTHERS, VALUES. ALSO, I AM SURE THERE WILL BE MANY YOUNGSTERS WHO WILL HAVE NIGHTMARES TONIGHT AS A RESULT OF THE EVIL DEPICTED IN THIS ANIMATED HORROR FILM. JUST AN OPINION, THAT'S ALL.

This is horrible movie for children. My 10 yr old was scared. She slept with me after this. I couldn't believe this expically with the child abductions goign on, to promote something so terrible for child, to be taken by someone so horrible.

I DO NOT think that this movie is suitable for children under like at lest 6 or 7. It may look like a children's movie but I say it's too scary. @ school this guy named Angelo whose mom is my mom's friend told me that it was so scary. Even a little bit for him. His bro Drake was VERY scared. Drake's like 8 or something. I think people shouldn't say stuff aboutthat fat lady and her breasts or anything.Cut it out...

Are you kidding me? I can't believe people here who are upset about the movie not being a CHILDREN'S movie! This movie is OBVIOUSLY not for children, at least not small kids! Have any of these people seen The Nightmare Before Christmas? Even from the trailers I could tell this was going to be even more dark than that one! The previews of this movie make it clear that it is going to be of some dark subject matter and just because it is animation doesn't automatically make it for CHILDREN! OMG. You should be upset with yourself, NOT the people who made the movie! PG means PARENTAL GUIDANCE SUGGESTED. AND if something is PG-13 that means the movie isn't suited for kids UNDER 13 and even then, PARENTS SHOULD USE JUDGEMENT before sending their children, no matter what age! That alone should clue you into the fact that there might be subject matter some people might not want their little kids to see. If you are not willing to do your homework then stick to G ratings. That stands for GENERAL AUDIENCE. Then you won't risk offending yourself or exposing your kids to things you don't want them to see. Also, WHY did these people sit through the movie?? At the first sight of something I didn't want my kids to see, I'd sweep them up and ask for my money back ; admitting to myself and everyone else that I ALONE made the mistake. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN WELL BEING & YOUR CHILDREN'S. As an adult, I enjoyed the movie and thought it was complex & good fun. But NOT FOR MY KIDS!

PG means parental guidance! Just returned from this movie with my 8-year-old daughter--the second time she'd seen it--the last time with her mother. This film is not for all kids, and parents need to do their homework before they take their small children. If you deem what you read about the film to be inappropriate, don't take your kids.I would have never taken my son to this movie, but my daughter, much more mature, could handle it and understood its commentary about inattentive, boring working parents who are too busy to guide their children. How ironic!
