I will predict: any attempt to bring this film to theaters will expose the viewers to madness and misfortune. Some things are better left buried in the many forbidden histories of earth. There are terrifying entities that await to just be acknowledged before they reak havoc upon the poor victim who thinks they are just fantasy - they are not to be played with. The Old Ones and Elder Things are from a time when to earth was young, they are embittered life forms that are trapped between corporial and etherial dimensions (3rd and 4th) i.e.. They are not evil -- only alien to all conditions of human existance. They are bitter because of their plight in never being allowed to evolve back to the Creator. They WILL destroy all that do......

There have been at least a dozen attempts to bring H.P. Lovecraft's works to the screen, but only one or two have been well received by the critics or by Lovecraft fans. "Animator" is generally considered the best so far. This one is apparently based on the novella "The Shadow over Innsmouth," with one or more of Lovecraft's other stories in his "Cthulu Mythos" grafted on. I wish I could be optimistic about this one, but I get the feeling they've tried to cram too much in. There are two intelligent races in the Cthulu Mythos: the Great Old Ones, who live in outer space (or maybe in a parallel universe), and the Deep Ones, who live underwater (and maybe underground.) "The Shadow over Innsmouth" is about the Deep Ones, and it's probably a good idea to focus on them in one movie, and save the Great Old Ones for a second one.
