I watched it twice and i think it's a well written and acted movie. Jonah Hill always surprises me, but we all know what Marisa Tomei and John C.... ey are capable of. I give it an 8. Full Review

A creepily unsettling story about a troubled, mother-obsessed 21-year-old son who seems to be on the threshold of becoming a... al killer. Next stop, "Cyrus 2: A Son's Revenge" And oh, by the way, it's not funny... Full Review

This is for the indie type movie goer, not the people who like to see Matt Damon. There is no action. The acting was great, the plot was interesting... and so I loved this movie. It was very funny at times as well. But again, if you like standard, run of the mill movies only, then you'll get bored because this is an interpersonal drama and character study. Full Review

A dulcetly crazy, certifiably hilarious and eerily mysterious little comedy.Full Review

Cyrus cues us to expect it to go over the top, but the film never does. That may be its neatest trickFull Review

Amuses and unnerves in equal measure. A comedy of discomfort that walks a wonderful line between reality-based emotional honesty and engaging humor, it demonstrates the good things that happen when quirky independent style combines with top-of-the-line acting skill.Full Review

Here is a film that uses very good actors and gives them a lot of improvisational freedom to talk their way into, around and out of social discomfort. And it's not snarky. It doesn't mock these characters. It understand they have their difficulties and hopes they find a way to work things out.Full Review

Middle-aged romance can be a dicey prospect. And it gets more complicated when children are in the picture. But it gets more complex still if the "child" is actually 21, and creepily meddlesome.Full Review
