I went into this movie expecting to have already seen the funniest moments in the numerous trailers I had seen on TV. Boy was I surprised! The movie was funny, touching, and real. I find it hard to believe that any family got along like this whole family but they made it believable. Steve Carrell was hilarous in a different way from his other movies, a refreshing change. I left the theater feeling uplifted and hopeful. What more can you ask for in a movie?

I have not laughed and felt so good at the theater in such a long time. Go see this move. Bring a date. Enjoy yourself!

This was the best movie I have seen in the past 5 years! The entire audience was laughing and reacting to the entire movie...as were we! If you don't go and see this movie it will be a mistake....I never see movies twice and I am going to see it again this weekend! And when the DVD comes out it's being added to my collection as one of the best I've seen....like Notting Hill and Something's gotta give and Sleepless in Seattle as a classic one to watch over and over again anytime I want to feel inspired! I love this movie soooooo much! Thanks Hollywood, it's about time! :)

I think the title of this review says it all!

Steve Carell has made some bad choices in movie roles, IMO. Not this time. This is a family movie with heart and humor. Steve Carell raises his emotional level and expands his humorous subtlety by leaps and bounds. A very nice surprise.

My whole family loved this film! I think Peter Hedges is becoming one of the most poignant film writers/directors of our time. He knows how to look into the heart of a family.

My boyfriend and I actually agreed on a movie for once! This is a great movie! It's good for the heart and sense of humor. Loved seeing this side of Steve Corell. I think all ages would like it. Four thumbs way up from the two of us!

This was one of the best movies I've EVER seen! I laughed, I cried, I said "Oh my God!" out loud! I wasn't a big Steve Carell fan before this film, but he was fantastic! He was sweet, silly, romantic, paternal...it was just a delightful film! I HIGHLY recommend!!!
