My boyfriend and I actually agreed on a movie for once! This is a great movie! It's good for the heart and sense of humor. Loved seeing this side of Steve Corell. I think all ages would like it. Four thumbs way up from the two of us!

My 21 year old son, my mother-in-law and my 40 year old something self all came out of this movie saying it was the best movie we have seen in at least 2 years! I think some of you were expecting a crude, knee slapping comedy that has been the mind numbing norm of late, but instead I found Dan in Real Life to be humorous, sad, touching, raw, poignant and very real all rolled into one movie...how often do you get that these days? The familty life portrayed in this film was excellent, the disgruntled teenager daughters, the loving but real brothers and sisters and parents that loved their kids even though they saw their warts and faults. Steve Carell's portrayal of a widower who finally finds a love interest, but finds he can not express it due to circumstances is funny, emotional and sometimes painful...is perfect! I say go see it for yourself!

I was expecting this to be mildly amusing at best, a bit sophomoric, and average storyline. Instead I was completely entertained and engrossed. My husband thoroughly enjoyed it as well. It's not just another immature comedy - the characters are complex and you feel empathetic toward them. It was quite moving in parts. If you enjoy films about an underdog or struggling to find your way through life, you will completely enjoy this.

I loved this movie because it was funny, heart-warming, and ok for kids to see. I laughed a lot and I cried a few times too. It was great to watch a large family get together and have a great time playing games, eating meals together, and bonding. I was pleasantly surprised that there were no sex scenes and no profanity either. I wish that Hollywood made more decent movies like this one.

You can't miss using your time to watch a Steve Carrell movie. I'm watching "Dan in Real Life" right now so I'm unble to give my complete opinion at this point in time. So its back to the living room to finish a fun movie. Kinda strange for me to be writing when I haven't really even seen the movie yet, huh!! Ohwell, I'm not really a strange person, I just never do this kind of thing anyway, so why not do it at the wrong time on my first attempt?

I thought this movie was one of the best that I saw in a long time. There were parts of the movie that made you laugh and parts that made you cry but there wasnt any sex or nudity or any bad language in it. I enjoyed it very much.

The most horrible part of the film is that the author couldn't think of a better bad guy for the story than another "crazy religious hypocrite bad guy/gal." Mind you, I enjoy a good scare and as a Steven King fan, I'm willing to suspend disbelief, but The Mist screenplay gives way too much power to yet another Hollywood created evil-and-religious hypocrite. Not only is this kind of writing offensive to the millions of well-adjusted, and well-balanced Christians, these kinds of religious characterizations show serious lack of imagination and give self-important "holier-than-thou" few way too much power to be believed.Based only on her abrasive and offensive brand of religion -- without any kind of charisma -- we are supposed to believe that this religious terrorist could incite 10-15 average Joes to commit murder and to be willing to sacrifice an innocent child withonly 2-3 days of indoctrination? If Steven King wants us to believe that is possible, then he must also fear that same kind of free-loving American people could be as easily converted to Islam bent on an anti-American jihad! Come on, Steven King! Can't you give us a slightly more believable bad guy?
