  • An overwrought and ultimately silly thriller. show more

  • Deception is not the cool, noirish thriller it tries to be. Despite a cast that includes double-crossers Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams caught in the middle, the film is a yawn. show more

  • The real culprit is first-time director Marcel Langenegger, who seems to have studied for his debut by watching nothing but Cinemax. The score hints at ominous activities that never happen, a rain machine provides the only atmosphere and the actors have to suffer through the silliest sex scenes in recent memory. show more

I agree with several of the reviewers; the film caught my interest based on the cast. It started out so slowly, surely I thought it would pick up - I was decepted! Not only did it not pick up, it came to a screaming halt. Slow-boring-predictably ridiculous. $25.00 and 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. A definite do- not-see; not even worth the cost of a rental.
