I just saw Dirty Laundry and enjoyed it. Although it is obviously low budget (what is the average budget a black film can get from studios???) the story is endearing. The "coming out" aspect is only one part of the "dirty laundry". (And, it is important because of the conservative view of in many black communities of the gay lifestyle.) However, it is essentially a story about a family healing. Loretta Devine is, as always, Divine. The young man playing the little boy is adorable. There is a church scene that many people attending African American churches can relate too. As a church musician, I certainly could. Anyway, it's a slice of black culture that others may not "get" or understand. I was thoroughly entertained.
