I believe parents have to start screening these movies before taking their children to them. What may be suitable for some may not be for others. Use your judgement and don't assume. if you do, then a horrible reaction is what you will get.

Yes, the film is scary. But it has all kinds of positive messages for kids--about generosity, forgiveness, and legacy. I took my kids (6 and 9) twice. The second time to the 3-D version, which I heartily recommend. The visuals are stunning, and the acting is top touch. I loved the music, too. To the idiot who said that Scrooge turns out to be a liberal: No, liberals use the government to give to the have-nots. As we all know, Scrooge becomes a private donor to the poor, definitely a major part of conservative economics.

God people now are so uptight about their kids' safety. Can't spank them: thats "child abuse." Can't take them to see a PG movie which, if you're really that ignorant, means "PARENTAL GUIDANCE SUGGESTED." Of course there are going to be scary parts in it. Just becuase it's a classic story does NOT mean it has to appeal to all audiences.

Hey, This is giong to be a great flick, taking my 19 yr. old daughter, having some dinner, all versions of The Christman Carol are pretty good, and Jim Carrey can do nothing but make it more enjoyable!, Will update on the outcome

I have not seen this yet but I am looking foward to it based on the good and the bad reveiws. It was too scary for a 5 year old, LOL, hey maybe you should have read the book first, of course I realize there was not much time between the book being published and the movie comming out ( only like 171 years), so maybe you could not find the time. Really though if it was scary then it must have captured the spirt ( no pun intented) of the Dickens classic which I have read every year since I was 10... I am so geeked about going to see this film with my sons and grandsons, including a 6 year old, I hope it doesn't scare the Dickens out of him... ( Pun intended) LOL...

Brwright47 I liked the Movie. It makes one look at how Scrooge is like the Rich Insurance Co's of today. Not wanting to let go of their wealth when it comes to helping out the poor and the uninsured in this Country. Scrooge is a Consevative who changes his ways and becomes a Liberal in the end! D'OOHHH!!!!!

This movie is in the middle for me. Because some parts are calm and quiet, and then all the sudden BOOM something just pops at you.

What kind of world do we live, when a company becomes rich preying on children, markets its product for children but doesn't provide a product for children? Childrens themes are used by Disney to give liberal actors a forum, since no one will see their adult films. A Christmas Carol was exgtremely disturbing!!!!Dark imagery that frightened my child and certainly was not a PG film for a child. The message that Scrooge realizes his mistakes and corrects them was deligated to approx. 5 minutes of the film. How much fiendish laughter must one endure? The only positive was the 3-D snowflakes. A real disappointment. PS What does Disney have against mothers? Most all Disney movies kill off the mother. ie. Bambi, Brother Bear, Finding Nemo, Mighty Jo Young
