    Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle

Entertaining and suspenseful, the movie shows the politicking and strategies that go into this annual ritual, and Costner is at his beleaguered best. show more

Draft's reverence for the gridiron, its heroes and the cities that worship them (particularly Cleveland) will make the movie a first-round pick of diehards. show more

    Steven Rea Philadelphia Inquirer

With his sleepy, So-Cal inflections, Costner is an actor who summons urgency and drama with, well, I'm not sure exactly how he does what he does. He's the least dynamic of stars, but still, he is one. show more

Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News

Haven’t Cleveland fans suffered enough? Not only have they never won a Super Bowl, but now the Browns serve as the center of Ivan Reitman’s painfully creaky sports drama. show more

    Todd McCarthy The Hollywood Reporter

In his most effective full star turn in perhaps a decade, Kevin Costner dominates as the greenhorn general manager of the beleaguered Cleveland Browns. show more

While Draft Day is a very agreeable and predictable movie, it is also very timely. show more

    Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times

A sentimental, predictable, sometimes implausible but thoroughly entertaining, old-fashioned piece. show more

    James Berardinelli ReelViews

Costner, who has never been the most emotive of actors, is perfect for this role. show more

    Joe Williams St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Draft Day isn’t quite a comedy, but it’s got a similar kind of flow that makes it as easily consumable as lite beer. show more

Draft Day feels like a play, and I don't mean a football play. It feels like a play-play at its sporadic best, in the same way J.C. Chandor's 2011 "Margin Call" felt that way. show more

I thought it was a great movie, good story....kept you interested and the ending was especially cool. This is one of the few movies that is worth the money to go see. I would give it a strong B+ or A-.

With such talent, couldn't understand how dull, creaky and slow this was!! Hugely disappointed. Felt like a not too good, made 4 tv movie.. skip it. the hype is not true. You will chew the seats hoping it will end sooner.

I was thoroughly captured by the film and the storyline. I believe that like MONEYBALL, movie fans who don't know about sports, can still enjoy this character-driven film. The viewer is also reminded, that given the right script and role, Kevin Costner stil has movie star presence and appeal.

Great movie. Kevin Costner great as always. If you like football you'll enjoy this. Note to mkaiser586....The Redskins gave up their 1st and 2nd round picks for 2012, 2013 and 2014 to the Rams for their 2nd round pick...who turn out to be Robert Griffin lll. Draft day is always a crap shoot.
