Eros Synopsis & Movie Info

Synopsis

'Eros' is what you get when three of the world's most talented directors from three very disparate cultures -- Wong Kar-Wai (China), Steven Soderbergh (America) and Michelangelo Antonioni (Italy) -- come together to make one sexually charged film about love and desire. Each director tackles a story in the anthology, with Soderbergh and Kar-Wai paying homage to Antonioni, a man whose fingerprint can be seen on the work of the other two. Kar-Wai's 'The Hand' delivers a tale of breathtaking emotion and eroticism, in which a young tailor (Chang Chen) pines for a high-end Hong Kong courtesan (Gong Li). The Soderbergh-directed 'Equilibrium' follows an advertising executive (Robert Downey Jr.) whose stress at work manifests itself in a recurring dream of decidedly sensual subject matter. And in 'The Dangerous Thread of Things,' Antonioni gives us the story of ménage a trois between a couple and a young woman on the coast of Tuscany.
