Great little comedy. The critics are all wrong. Everybody in the Theater was laughing out loud, and I live in a Jewish neighborhood!!!. What a charming movie!!!! Everyone in the cast was perfect!! Welcome back Penny Marshal. We missed you girl. Come back more often! We love you!! Go see it everyone. You will be glad you did!!A third generation Italian, and proud of it!! 5 stars all the way!

Saw this in south jersey during opening eagles game and the theater was filled (granted with a lot of italians) but the movie got a lot of spontaneous laughs from the audience. I found this a cute, refreshing, entertaining movie that moviegoers would appreciate, maybe not outlandish enough for the critics, but quirky and fun. Jablonsky was lead material and endearing as the adorable but clueless jake and the other guys in the fish market were engaging too. The dialogue was naturally funny and clever without trying too hard. Got the impression that the audience thoroughly enjoyed the film.

Critics have been way off, Italian was a solid 3 out of 5, not the best but certainly it wasn't that bad, I liked the dialogue between the guy's in the fish market, Cerina Vincent was a catch too. I love the line, "So your not a real doctor?" Every guy thinks that about Vet's.

The critics were generous by giving this movie one star- most likely out of respect for Ms. Marshall's stellar and brief 2 cameos. The remaining 95 minutes are not worth your time, the big screen or even a dvd rental on a rainy night. It provided a slight notch above porn quality dialogue and acting.
