One has only to read the reviews by the liberal media like the New York and Los Angeles Times to understand how this movie hit home. The fact they gave it such poor reviews and called it biased propoganda is evidence that this was a brilliant documentary made by an intelligent and entertaining man. Ben Stein really makes a lot of the modern day Darwinists look like blithering idiots when he probes them with the question, "Where did life start?" No matter how far back they go, they are stumped by this question, and really have no intelligent answer. The fact that the media gave this movie such a poor review and raved about Michael Moore's idiotic "Fahrenheit 9/11" is perfect evidence as to where they are coming from. It's funny (and telling) how such a poorly rated movie by the so called expert columnists could have received such a boisterous ovation at the end.

It is obvious you will hate it or love it depending on where you stand religiously or polictically. Most of the negative reviews have been hate filled and have an agenda for writing. I'm doubting if seem of the negative reviewers actually went to see it.

Does ontogeny indeed recapitulate phylogeny? Ben Stein digs to the bottom of Darwin's grave and exposes a well kept secret. Although Stein or his interviewees don't specificially state it, the rest of Darwin's title to "Origin" is telling. Expelled got me, a practicing biological researcher, to examine the "first cause" again (Darwin's original treatise). When I re-read the full title, I realized the genius of Stein's position regarding the logical extension of oxymoronic "scientific" evolution. Blind faith in unsound, unproven, unscientific evolutionary myth can lead to catastrophic human events as the last 10 minutes of "Expelled" aptly portrays. Darwing, Dawkins, Sanger... interesting bedfellows. Be sure to read the full title of Darwin's "Origin of Species..."

What a weak and tired argument and I'm glad I saw the bargain matinee! Ben Stein's voice drives me to distraction, but I was curious. This is just a sticking point for religious, well - if not fanatics, really, really ticked off because they can't have their way. Its a boring, predictable look at a subject that is worn out!

What you religious and non-religious apologists fail to realiza is that simply put, Intelligent Design IS NOT SCIENCE!!!! The Dover, Penn. Trial of 2005 should have put this to rest once and for all. Instead, the creationist simply spend more money, hiring a COMEDIAN, not even a scientist, to star in a documentary about people being fired for going against written policy about teaching religion. Which is what Intelligent Design is. The academic world does not need to follow by the same rules as the country, much like a large corporation. Make a stink about this at work and find out how long your boss tolerates it. He wont. And he'll be well within his rights to fire you.

GOOD MOVIE: You want to pound your head against the wall when you hear some of the moronic 'proofs' for evolution. It really just comes down to, that some people do not want to believe in God. Period.I LOVE it when evolutionists cry out "biased propaganda!" whenever it looks like creationists have a point. Never do they consider we might actually have one. Oh the hypocrisy. Furthermore, contrary to what evolutionists WANT us to believe, it is true that the only 'evidence' touted is for microevolution: consider Darwin's finches and the change in beak size, for example. The finches STILL remain finches. Also . . .Let's look at reynold926's 5/2/2008 review:- he claims that drug-resistant bacteria ARE evidence for macroevolution. But they're not. The bacteria are STILL bacteria - they're not turning into anything new. Any more 'evidence' for macroevolution, anyone?

No one disputes the fact that microevolution occurs (eg. antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria and viruses becoming more prevalent). These are not new species. They have adapted to the particular environment in which they live in order to better survive. The controversy is about macroevolution (eg. the popularly held belief that monkeys evolved into humans, the fact that evolutionists classify alligators as being more like birds than other reptiles, etc.) Please make the distinction between micro- vs. macroevolution. Adaptations/microevolution are not the issues that the movie addresses ;)

To Wmchaneer who asked where the new species are, I point you to all the new drug-resistant diseases that have sprung up since the rise of anti-biotics. Why? Because they EVOLVED from lower forms that were killed off because they couldn't adapt. This movie has absolutely no regard for the facts. If you want a fair

Much more than I expected! Ben Stein did a great job taking something important, explaining it so anyone could understand it, and making it very interesting. Everybody can learn from this. We all need to wake up to the fact that our freedoms are being taken away in many "little" ways, this is just one of the many! Thanks, Ben, for saying what other can't say. God bless America!
