Believers in God say, God did it all.Believers in science say how was it done? The first is a statement of faith (God created life etc)The second is based on a natural curiosity to find out why things are the way they are and not otherwise.Having a conflict over these two ideas is ludicrus. A scientist may say in the beginning, God set up all of the boundy conditions to cause the outcome desired and then pushed the "Big Bang Button. It seems that the people who say God did it all are really saying "God is still tweeking things with his/her cosmic screwdriver and wrench and calling it intelligent design. By the way Pope Benedict says he believes in evolution because there is a great deal of evidence to support it. Is the theory perfect? of course not. Are Newtons laws perfect? no, they are ok for most practical work but need to be corrected with Einsteins laws when we work with high energy particles.

If you spend money seeing this movie, keep in mind the producers objective to vacuum-pack a Burqa, incense and stain glass window with every Biology book. Save some money, wait a few weeks and see this film for FREE in any Church Rec Room. This movie is clearly an election year 2 hr Political Commercial, think Michael Moore for the Conservative Right.

I do not believe that the 'keked12' review is for real. I betcha it was an adult evolutionist posing as an illiterate 13 year old christian boy, and that sums up Ben Stein's excellent movie: 'Exepelled, No Intelligence Allowed'. As a scientist, I have rejected Evolution. Here are 2 views on evolution by scientists: "The fact that a theory so vague, so insufficiently verifiable, and so far from the criteria of HARD science has become dogma can only be explained on sociological grounds." Biologist Ludwig von Bertalanffy, as quoted by Huston Smith, 'The Post Modern Mind' -- AND: "I have always been slightly suspicious of the theory of evolution because of it's ability to account for any property of living beings (the long neck of the giraffe, for example). ... Evolution became in a sense a scientific religion; almost all scientists have accepted it and many are prepared to 'bend' their observations to fit in with it. ...I have therefore tried to see whether biological discoveries over the last thirty years or so fit in with Darwins theory. I do not think they do.To my mind, the theory does not stand up at all...I think, however, that we must go further than this and admit that the only acceptable explanation is creation. I know that this is anathema to physicists, as indeed it is to me, but we must not reject a theory that we do not like if the experimental evidence supports it." H.L. Lipson 'A Physicist Looks at Evolution' (31 Physics Bulletin 38, 1980)

As a scientist who use to be an evolutionist, then rejected evolution after I learned real science simply does not support evolution, yet it is taught as fact to an unwary public, and even worse, to young minds in High schools and colleges. Evolution is a theology for those intellectuals who have rejected God outright. A 1996 Poll revealed that 93% of scientists who are members of the powerful National Academy of Scientists (NAS) are atheists, and their scientific beliefs parrallel their atheistic worldview. Their is no freedom in Academia for God and that policy is strictly enforced. Orwellian methods 'ARE' used by the adherents of Evolution to enforce belief in Evolution. 'Expelled, No Intelligence Allowed' reveals their awful methods of enforcing their athesitic worldview as the only scienctific view allowed to be taught, and believed. This teaching of atheism is backed up by a cynical activistic liberal public media that deem themselves as the ultimate 'gods' in our universe and who are zealous to ensure that we obey and worship only them and their views. And for those who deny there is a strong link between Darwinism and Hitler's Holocaust, just Googol 'Weikart on Darwin-Hitler link'. Ben Stein's movie is right on. See the movie and you will understand the reality of what is going down. Evolution is a philosophy, and not a science.

If the people praising this film had any intellectual integrity whatsoever, they would see the enormous amount of websites criticizing this film for blatant misinformation (aka- LIES), ridiculously flawed conclusions, and the producers' shameless hypocrisy in accusing the scientists of having an agenda. HA! HA! HA! The producers of Expelled basically lied to the scientists they interviewed, such as PZ Myers and Richard Dawkins. They got them to interview under FALSE PRETENSES, telling them that the film was called Crossroads and was merely about the intersection of science and religion--they told them nothing about the film actually being creationist propaganda. At the film's prescreening, they actually REFUSED to allow PZ Myers to view the film. Imagine conceding to interview for a film, waiting quietly in line to view it, and being told by an officer that you have to leave the premises. I think it's pretty clear which side is trying to avoid criticism because they know what they're asserting can't stand up to good reason. The only people who would take this film at face value are people who are completely illerate in terms of science and history. The film can't even present history truthfully! His claims about the connection between Darwinism, Atheism, and the Holocaust are laughable! HITLER BANNED the teaching of Darwin's theory, and wrote in his book Mein Kampf that his persecution of the Jews was "the work of the Lord." To those blindly believing this film---Try getting your education from a more trustworthy source. And try to actually comprehend why Intelligent Design is rejected by the scientific community. There are plenty of resources about this- the internet is a good start. Be grateful that you're fortunate enough to have access to all of this knowledge and USE IT.

This movie plays on the general publics lack of understanding as to how science works. Evolutionary theory does not deal with how life began, only how it evolved from simpler species into more complex ones. There are over 9000 religions on earth right now, feel free to pick the creation myth of any of them and no scientist will argue with you.

It is simply the perfect invitation. Those that are meant to receive it, will. Deny yourself and receive the truth from a Holy Holy HolyGod. God has no room for ignorance, evil, or rebellion, onlylove. Blaspheme his Holy name in hundreds of movies for thirty years, and you see he has a voice. Take prayer out of schools and guns go in. We cannot tie our shoes without God. Our free will does not over ride the will of God......it only allows us to follow what we truly desire to be the truth. The truth will set you free....His name is JESUS.

My kids are being subjected to watching Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth (Lies)" in their High School, as well as Michael Moore's "Sicko" (which he is); but I am sure that they will not be screening "Expelled" in their school. Why? If you have seen the movie, you know why. Ben Stein does a fantastic job of showing the elitist (Obama, anyone?) mentality that is rampant in the educational circles in America, and how they will close ranks to shut out anyone, ANYONE who disagrees with their theory become dogmatic theology. Also, he traces the roots of the liberal obsession with abortion and euthanasia, which has its roots in Darwinism, and Nazi Germany was simply the end-product of the theory of evolution. Well done! Kudos for Mr. Stein. Watch it with an open mind (which I realize the fact that for most liberals and Democrats is not a possibility).

I could have heard these types of arguments by bringing up the subject anywhere in the country. I should not have had to pay 12 bucks to hear it on screen. 15 minutes worth of that was enough to last me a while. Well, they got my money up front, which is where most con men like to see the money. I think Ben Stein is terrific but this was a let down for me. Make another with Ben Stein pic and I'll go see it too, but next time really do something. Trying to save money in Las Vegas!
