I am well aquanted with the classic comic roots of FF/ DOOM/ SURFER. Unfortunately, the people behind this movie obviously are not! "Surfer getting his powers from his board"?? "Galactus nothing more than a cloud"?? "Doctor Doom nothing like his great comic counter-part"!! "Jessica Alba actually attempting to act"??? "UGH"!!!! Steer clear of this Fantastic Flop and hope that someday somebody gets it right..:(

Interlude: I am a comic book fan from the 90's. The Silver SUrfer is my favorite comic book character. Period. There is no reason why Marvel cannot make a story that does not sell out who the character really is, and entertain both children and adults. I would also like to add that I am not the type of fan that will not tolerate any type of deviation from the original story. I am all for those changes that make the movie about a comic book character less "comic booky." A perfect example of that is in Spiderman, his webs come from his wrists in the movie where as in the comic book, they come from metallic dvices that he built. It is a stretch for the non comicbook fan to take a teenage HS student buildign a sophisticated weapon like web shooters. In this movie, they completely player my boy Norinn Radd while simultaneously making a bad overall movie (that takes skill). THe only people who would enjoy this movie are children 12 and under and those who have low expectations on comic book movies. Where they compromised the Silver SUrfer1. They said his poweres came from his board. If they were good/decent story tellers, they could have set up the plot so that they went into the battle with SUrfer thinking his powers came from his board and then getting their butts whooped when they find out what we all know which is that the Surfer gets his powers from the environment around him...especially the sun and stars.2. The galactic glaze aint liquid metal. Yes the surfer can go through solid objects but he does not melt into and through his board. 3. The surfers main weapon of choice is firing blasts of energy. He did that once when attacked by doom. Everythign else he did was absorb things and just move things just by gesturing.4. THe surfer is faster than

This is a good movie for kids to see some afternoon when the thermometer is hitting 100degrees. Just drop them off, don't go in, unless you can deal with Spiderman dumbed down about 75%...

The movie was good, not great. I actually liked the first one better. The SILVER SURFER was very cool. TORCH, THING, AND MR FANTASTIC LOOKED GREAT!!! However, I think Jessica Alba's hair looks a whole lot better brunette than fake blonde. She looked so fake. The storyline was good. It was great seeing the Fantastic Four rise up again. I enjoyed seeing Michael Chiklis. I give it 3 1/2 stars.

This movie is just for fun. I love the characters and the story line is fantasy.So if you are planning on a movie to enjoy on a hot day.. This is a good pick, even has a few good laughs.

Well lets lay the high points. One Silver Surfer is wicked cool and so is the story he has with Galacuts. Two way better then the first. Three some of marvel best action sequences. Four great concetion between the charecters. Five in my mind number 6 on the all time marvel movie list 1. Spiderman3 2.X3 3. X2 4. Spiderman 2 5. Daredevil 6. Spiderman(the best first movie of a marvel franschie) 7.FF- Rise of the Silver Surfer 8. X-men 9. Blade2 10.Ghost Rider. Now I know people will disagree on this list but this is what I think. Now the low points. No WATCHER! and didn't follow the comic book plot. However most people don't know this plot because it was 50 years ago but for us people who love the orignal comics that would be our only complaints. If they had followed the story line it could have been the best marvel movie ever...! But it's not. Still go see this movie. You probley don't know the orignal story and will not get dissapointed. It is still really good on its own. GO SEE THIS MOVIE! Great family movie and not that violent so go on and check this out.
