Matthew Broderick (Torch Song Trilogy) ,Alan Ruck (Speed) and Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing) are wonderful! A teen plays \"hooky\" with his best friend and makes the school go ragged and nervous Ferris goes AWOL,and takes the day off to see a baseball game.I love this zany movie, when a teen takes over.

Ferris Bueller is the most brilliant, refreshing, envigorating wonderful display of comedy captured on film. You cannot just sit there watching this film without a 'constant' grin on your face, not counting the out-burst of laughter in between...

great movie! right up there with risky business. love the way Ferris looks back at the camera like he knows we're watching him. His friend Camren is the greatest. Shy? but will make prank calls to the school! (let my Camren Go) LOL. Ferris' girlfriend was hot. Roony gets his just deserts. His mom & dad loved him and his sister ends up loving him too. Everyone loves Frerris!

Paucity of invention here lays bare the total absence of plot or involving situations. Full Review

This is John Hughes' best teen film, and it's a call to arms to everyone in the world who doesn't want to follow society's lame-ass rules at the expense of living a cool life. Full Review

It's basically a mindless paean to goofing off, with interludes of dubious seriousness. [16 June 1986] Full Review

That the film doesn't live up to our anticipation of a rolicking good time is only part of its disappointment. [11 June 1986] Full Review

One of the least appealing movies I've seen in a while.... When a member of the audience belched loudly, that got the biggest laugh of the day. [17 June 1986, p.26(E)] Full Review
