The trailer looks cute; the movie was not. At one point during the show I asked my husband if he wanted to leave but we stayed to get our money's worth. Bad decision. We wasted both our money and our time. All the humor is at the expense of someone else. Nobody is loveable, nothing about the movie is likeable. Not even selfish Vince and his sad Santa brother. As we left my husband said," that was the worst Christmas movie I've seen."

One might think that, at the age of 71, I would have long since seen The Great Waltz, but it was only recently that I happened upon it. To say that I was enchanted would be a gross understatement. Even in black and white the costumes were spectacular and the sets sleek and lavish. Fernand Gravet, an actor with whom I am not familiar, held his own quite well in the role of Johann Strauss II; no mean feat since he was playing against two remarkable women. Two time Academy Award winner Luise Rainer was all sweetness and charm as Poldi, the composer's utterly loyal and long suffering wife while Miriza Poljuk allowed me to recall how stunning the performance of a truly gifted coloratura soprano can be. Once known as "The Berlin Nightingale" her face was a lovely as her voice and her voice called forth the glory of angels. For anyone who loves the waltz and the glory of great music this is a film not to to be missed. That the film is an admittedly fictional account of the life of the man known as The Waltz King is of little consequence. From the first note of the first waltz, it really doesn't matter.

I laughed, I cried... it was a cute movie! It was a little slow at first... but this movie does not disappoint... bring the whole family!

I enjoyed the movie and most of its message but did not enjoy the fact that they changed the words of Silent Night. The producers must be atheists or secularists and are participating in the erasing of religious figures. The words "Christ the Savior is Born" were eliminated at the end of "Silent Night"Why are people trying to eliminate things that pertain to the Christian religion when our country is 87% Christian.I vote to boycott this movie because of its anti-Christian mind set.Diane Hanvey

I have never heard David Allan Coe sing a song I did not like. His songs from 1967 or so to 2007. I have heard them all at some time. I liked some more than others, but I liked them all. thank you David Allan Coe for 40 years of good music.
