I loved this movie and cried like a baby at the end! It had messages of perseverance, love, sacrifice, and salvation. It presented a real picture of what HOPE can be given to those who need it, if the more fortunate among us reach out to others I highly recommend this movie!

The best movie I saw in a very long time. Ignore the critics review as they don't like to give merit to independent films. Apples struggles should be an inspiration to all.

AMAZING movie!! I love how the hollywood fools only gave it 2 stars. Probably would have given it 5 if the girl had killed her baby through an abortion.

This movie is incredibly inspirational and moving. It takes a hard look at a subject that is dismissed on a daily basis: homelessness. Vanessa Hudgen's performance of pregnant, homeless teen Apple is mind blowing. This is a great film with a wonderful message. See it this weekend!

For all of Krauss’ clearly good intentions, the film still falls staggeringly flat, even with the inclusion of a bold and unexpected performance from Vanessa Hudgens, doing her damndest to break out of the Disney mold and turn in actual work here. Full Review

As a film, though, Gimme Shelter is unremarkable, a predictable story of redemption that happens awfully fast, to a girl who only seems to be in peril briefly — and has a rich dad to bail her out. Full Review

From an artistic perspective, Ron Krauss’ heavy-handed drama, Gimme Shelter, fails almost entirely. But if the director set out to combine the stilted falsity of 1980s after-school specials with leaden political dogma, he’s certainly achieved his goals. Full Review

Although it’s superficially grungy, this true story isn’t much more substantive than something that star Vanessa Hudgens might have made for the Disney Channel and considerably less shocking than her career gambit in “Spring Breakers.” Full Review

Gimme Shelter is an attempt at something grand, and though it doesn't get halfway there, it covers some ground. Full Review
