Who would have thought Ben Affleck could direct? This is a film made for people who appreciate good good filmmaking. If you need non-stop action and limited dialogue to keep from falling asleep, rent The Transformer movie.

I enjoy "Based on a true story" movies. This movie is great in depicting the rise to power of a legendary business man. Not so great because it lacked action. 4 out of 5 stars in my opinion. The media defiantly hyped this movie up but it is worth seeing if you want to be inspired by the sheer determination of a man who saw the bigger picture. Don't get me wrong, I don't care for the drug business but the principles behind this hustle is the same as a legit fortune 500 company. Go see the movie if you want to learn about making something out of nothing.

Without four letter words there wouldn't be much dialogue. Too much concentration on "artsy" photography and way too much dead time. Tedious to watch.

Decent people were leaving the theatre because of the F language. I would guess there were close to 100 F words (also several Mother F's) Using C also was not necessary. Shame on you!

The movie was....ok. But you should definetly read the book...o wait read the books. Gone Baby Gone is the fourth book in a five book series. All the books are excellent reads. The movie simply doesnt do the book justice.

This is John Hartford's last studio release, a tribute to the music he learned along the way and the folks who inspired him. It is a also a tribute to those who played with him in the early years. We remember John through his catalog of good music. Yeah buddy.

This is the truth. I fell asleep after the first 15 minutes and woke up near the half-way point. I don't know nor care about this fillm because it failed to grab my attention. Casey Affleck has a terrific publicity agent. He is not a great actor. He is a skinny geek who has a genius for talking in a comatose monotone. He is the sole reason I fell asleep. By the way, he's even more sleep-inducing in that "Jesse James" bomb. This is not the worst film of the year, but it is definitely the worst year ever for films. I'm tired of being ripped off by something that was put together with the help of tokes and snorts, then passed off as 'art'.

Well acted and directed with a plot that has more threads than a designer suit, which is worn and dirtied by street person in a big city. Affleck develops this emotionally charged story and realistic characters (most notably his brother Casey). He mixes the realism of the human dilemma with the deep moral and spiritual aspects of life on the front line. The plot was not uplifting but leads you to deeply examine your own values in a unique and realistic way. A true triumph for Ben
