deep insight on racial prejudice and emotional trauma; ptsd dramatized well; we as a society still need to improve; i hope it doesn't take 100 years.

Clint is a Master, I saw the movie with my teenage son, He said as the movie has ended; this an Oscar all over it, after the nominations of Oscar were announeced; my son was very dissapointed and made clear that he will not watch the Oscar and not see any of the Oscar winning movie this year, He feels as a I do, that the Oscar committee had missed the target this year

Don't stop making movies, Clint Eastwood. You simply know how to do it; or, maybe, you know how to do it simply. I didn't see a car chase or an explosion. What I saw was an effort look at people closely. Keep it up forever--or at least as long as I go to the movies.

Saw "Gran Torino" last week and cannot understand why the 13-hour snooze-a-palooza, aka, "The Terminally Incurious Benjamin Button Steals the Identity of Forrest Gump and Meets Joe Black" got (I was gonna say 'earned' but, it earned nothing) 13 Oscar noms and Eastwood's film was shut out. At the very least, the song that plays over the end credits, written by Clint and sung beautifully by Jamie Cullum, is THE BEST SONG FROM A MOTION PICTURE in years! It is also one which will be around forever. As much as I liked "Slumdog" and it's killer tuneage, and Peter Gabriels's song from "WALL-E," those songs aren't in the same league as "gran Torino." Someone wrote on another blog that "GT" received no acclaim because it wasn't politically correct enough for the Academy. If it were, would it be the same film? I think not.

another shallow, full of stereotypes, Eastwood schtick. Very disappointing. Nothing "subtle" about this one- WAY over the top. :-(

I loved it. As the credits played nobody left there seat. I not sure why.

I didn't expect to like this film. In fact it was entirely charming. It was a "feel good" story.
