This entry at the 1962 San Francisco Film Festival came from a 1960 German television production. Produced by American Edward Dmytryk, Hamlet was redubbed in English when the director convinced Maximillian Schell the results would insure a wider audience for the film. Both English and German versions were shown in succession at the Festival.
