    Peter Travers Rolling Stone

The most shocking thing here is the fact that Peter Chelsom directed it. His 1995 movie, "Funny Bones," is a genuinely transgressive piece of dark comedy. I can't detect a trace of Chelsom in Hannah Montana, which means he won't have to wear a blonde wig to hide his shame. show more

If you're no longer old enough to carry a Hannah Montana lunch box, this movie will feel like punishment. show more

It's hard not to wish the same wholesome message could be conveyed with a bit more finesse and originality. show more

Handles the strained daddy/daughter bond with sufficient lightness and laughs so that fathers won't mind accompanying their spawn. show more

Like 2003's "Lizzie McGuire" movie, "Hannah" breaks little new ground but makes the big screen shift with liveliness and sense of humor impressively intact. show more

    Michael Rechtshaffen The Hollywood Reporter

There are sufficient pratfalls and Miley/Hannah quick-changes to satisfy the fans, while Cyrus retains that natural, unforced likability that made her a star in the first place. show more

Music, naturally, is a big part of this movie -- Disney has a soundtrack to sell -- with both Cyruses, Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts performing. show more

If you are a big fan of country music, you will enjoy it for the Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Billy Ray Cyrus and of course, Miley Cyrus performances. show more

    Michael Phillips Chicago Tribune

I like the end-credits sequence best, which has nothing to do with hoary complications or the miseries of stardom or the magical spellbinding powers of a cheap wig. show more
