In Search of Ancient Ireland, Episode I: Heroes investigates the early myths and legends of Ireland. Gerard McSorley narrates. This hour-long program begins before written history by examining burial mounds and stone age relics. Archaeologists and historians provide a historical context to folklore about the warrior Cu Chullain and the mighty Queen Maeve. The film also looks at the Bronze Age and the founding of a new kingdom Scotland. Originally broadcast on PBS in June of 2002.
