Plot
This documentary, part of the Investigative Reports cable television series on the A&E network, examines the past, present, and future of the governmental agency called the Office of Housing and Urban Development, better known as HUD. The episode, narrated by Investigative Reports host and producer Bill Kurtis, explores how the initial concept of HUD differs drastically from the present conditions of the agency. You will hear from tenants of HUD buildings, go inside some of those buildings to see the sometimes deplorable conditions, and even hear from government experts who talk about their views on what lies ahead for HUD. Also, there is an interview with former HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros, who talks about the problems he faced as head of HUD and his views on the agency's work and progress.
