This is one movie I enjoyed as a rental. Glad I did'nt spend the money for two tickets at a theater. Tom Cruise gives a really good performance in the title role. I would'nt say its the best movie I've seen this yr. ******* not the worst either!

You've got to be on drugs if you don't like this movie. A thriller from start to finish. Excellent acting and a great storyline.

Tom Cruise has never attempted to play a character so extreme. If you're familiar with the Lee Child books then you know the casting of Cruise was absurd. In the books, Reacher is supposed to be an intimidating large man. Cruise is not that. The movie is a tad long but Werner Herzog is a delight 3/5

As a Jack Reacher fan I have to say Cruise's modest, almost diminutive frame left half of what makes up the Reacher character in the Reacher books. Otherwise, a satisfying effort and an entertaining movie.

The bigger problem is that Cruise, as Reacher, has no wit and no style, other than the studiously applied kind. He's so desperate to do everything right that nearly everything he does comes off all wrong. Full Review

Apart from the car chase, the only real fun in Jack Reacher comes from Mr. Herzog and Robert Duvall, called in near the end for some marvelously gratuitous scenery chewing as a gruff former Marine. They enliven the movie's atmosphere of weary brutality for a few moments, but they also call attention to the dullness of their dramatic surroundings. Full Review

Jack Reacher is a wildly ill-advised miscalculation, with Cruise's virtually unstoppable appeal butting uncomfortably against Reacher's alternately cocky and downright crude cynicism. Full Review

So thrill-less, so chill-less is Jack Reacher that it is unlikely to spark interest, much less controversy. Full Review

Despite a terrific cast, Jack Reacher comes up empty-handed. Full Review
