Meryl Streep -- at her brilliant, beguiling best -- is the spice that does the trick for the yummy Julie & Julia. show more

Strangely, though, there isn't enough for one movie, and the first clue to why lurks in the title's ampersand, a sort of linguistic duct tape holding together two stories that never really function as one. show more

Even if you don't give a shiitake mushroom about food, there's much to savor in this lively comedy with dramatic aftertastes. show more

Streep is the most important ingredient in this recipe. show more

As enjoyable as this foodie movie is, you wish it would take a deeper, more nuanced measure of the women who, in two different eras, star in the movie's kitchens. show more

One can’t help but wonder if Ephron would’ve been better off focusing exclusively on Child: She’s simply more interesting screen company. show more

There's very little doubt in my mind that somewhere, culinary legend Julia Child is fuming about being consigned to a double bio-pic with a whiny, self-centered cooking blogger. show more

This is blissful moviemaking. Much of the pleasure we have in watching it comes from seeing Tucci and, obviously, Streep connect. show more

Hey there. I saw this one with my wife last Friday. Belive me, it s not a Movie for Guys. If you like cooking, maby ! : ) Of course Meryl Streep is brilliant like always but this movie is done for women. The Story is nice but the movie goes really slow. Sometimes a scatch that you smile but no big deal to make this Movie more intresting. Sorry, I can t give more than 3 Stars. Regards Mircoslav

Rarely does Meryl Streep make a bad movie......which is why I ignored the negative reviews. But yeah, this movie was BORING from start to finish. Honestly not worth your time.

I loved this movie! It was inspiring and uplifting! I am a foodie and have used Julia's recipes on many occasions and thus was intrigued by what went on behind the scenes during the times those recipes were being written. I think when everyone enthusiastically applauds at the end of the show says it all! People came out smiling and VERY hungry!

Overall I enjoyed the storyline of this movie. Although Meryl Streep is a talented actress, it deeply sadden me that Hollywood has to put their political digs into a movie that has nothing to do with politics. I don't think Julia Childs would have approved of the arrogance or political incorrectness that was so distasteful in this movie. Even though I enjoy watching Meryl Streep the actress, I will not be wasting my money on any more of her movies.
