I went to see this today, and LOVED IT. For a change it was a happy movied basically. A few emotional moments but Meryl Streep was WONDERFUL, and Amy Adams reminded me of me :) I have spent the last 8 years writing down family and friends recipes and finally have over 2000 to download onto CD's. I have 3 daughters and 5 granddaughters to pass our recipes on to. Amy's cooking of the recipes was true to life. Loved the scene with the Lobsters......been there :) 5 Stars PLUS :)

This is the best movie out there and the best movie I have seen in months. Julie and Julia were both great.

While most critics rave about the portrayal of Julia, I am giving five stars to Julia AND Julia. Both capture the essence of her character, appropriate for her age and *************, and endear and inspire us.

I totally disagree wtih the critics. I thought the Julie part of this two part life story was far better and far more interesting than the Julia part.

Why the PG13? Is there any way I could bring my 11-year old to watch this? She loves cooking shows...and her name is Julia (Julia to some).

If you like Meryl Streep and who doesn't, this is a not to be missed film. But hold on, is that Meryl Streep or Julia Child? I haven't seen Meryl better since "Sophie's Choice". Yeah, yeah, she's done a lot of great movies but she really takes on this persona. I liked Amy Adams but besides Meryl, Jane Lynch is the next standout. As Julia's sister, she embrasses the sister-like quality of Julia. Very wonderful performance, Jane. Maybe not a run out and see because the script is so, so but if you like great performances, then skip out to see it.

I just saw a preview showing of the movie and it's FANTASTIC! I loved it! Meryl Streep is so wonderful as Julia Child, whose show I remember watching as a child! Amy Adams is superb as Julie Powell, and the story line and the supporting cast just so WORK! Stanley Tucci is wonderful as Julia's husband Paul Child, and Jane Lynch turns in a great performance as Julia's sister Dorothy. Everyone else in the cast held up their roles beautifully. I think this another Nora Ephron classic. It's a movie I won't tire of watching over and over - mainly because the food has a starring role as well!
