This is one of the BEST performances by an actor I've ever seen -Marion Cotillard as Piaf. This is submersion into the pathos that was Piaf, sad, tragic, real and facinating. Very well directed movie, as well as acted, all around. The movie stills conveys its mood after you leave the theater. While it is a great movie I doubt it is a movie for the under 40 set that don't know Piaf's music or life.If you are a fan of Edith Piaf's music then you MUST see this film.

There is not many movies where the crowd breaks out in the applause at the end and the whole audience is a buzz talking about this wonderful movie. Best of 2007 thus far.... don't miss this one!

I watched this movie with 3 other adult family members, and by the end of the movie we were sobbing unintelligibly! The movie may be long by American standards, but we finally get the opportunity for enough time to flesh out the story and explore Piaf's complex character. The actress got Piaf dead-on. This movie was moving, sympathetic, artistic, beautiful, heart-wrenching. If you don't know Piaf already, get to know her through her music, and then come see the show. I hope this wins an Oscar.

I went into this movie because Evening was sold out, not expecting much I left the theatre in tears and blown away with a numb feeling that lasted 3 days. The film was so good, so engrossing and so emotionally jarring I had to think of something else during the final death scene or I would have been wailing like the French do.So glad Evening was sold out now. Wow what an unforgettable film experience a great great movie. Ona 1-10 scale a perfect 10.If you love music and deep touching films of highs and lows (very lows) of life you will adore Edith and La Vie En Rose. Will never forget this film.

I highly recommend this movie to all. It was sad but an outstanding portrait of one who came from nothing and became something. The lost of one she loved had an unfortunate affect on her. A must see movie.

I could not stop thinking about this movie when I left the theater. I knew little about Edith Piaf when I entered, but I was mesmerized by her voice. This is a powerful film. I found it to be an exhilarating experience.

I thought it was overacting where I found it distracting.

I usually walk into a "horror" film, with really low expectations. I know I couldn't get scared. This was the first movie, ever, in my entire life that came out as a "scary" movie, in which it ended with me saying "that was fantastic".It is not crap. It is a story. It is scary. That's all you need to know. Go see this movie.

This brilliant, poignant portrait of Piaf's life is overwhelming (the entire theatre rose to applause at the end). Cotillard, as Piaf, is masterful. The abundant use of flashbacks serves to evoke our human sympathy as we see her just before her death, an ailing addict of 48 with a body twice her age, in between scenes of youthful verve and enthusiasm. And always that marvelous voice! Rush, rush to see this deeply moving picture.
