For some reason I think i enjoyed the movie more because I went with a friend....it wasnt the best Ive ever seen but surely not the worst,,,,,,it was a fun type movie that left you with a good upbeat feeling....instead of the pit in your stomach feeling you are left by some other dark comedy/dramas.I say see it if you're with a date or someone fun....you won't feel you wasted 7 bucks.

I was hoping to see 2 of my favorite actors in a period movie and it was so boring I went to sleep in the first half. Shallow is all I can say about the plot and the characters. I expected waaay more out these 2 stars. A qick money movie for them I'm sure. The second half was a little faster moving and kept me awake but the story was really void of interest. I also resent when they make people of that day talk like a bunch of gutter rats which is so not what they did back then. Oh well I give it a 1 or 1 1/2 stars

I really enjoyed this movie. I loved the 20's era setting. Also, it had a great story and it was very funny too. George Clooney and Renee Zellweger gave great performances. It probably won't win any Oscars but who cares? I definitely plan to see it again.

I enjoyed this movie even though it WAS predictable (but that's O.K.). It was only the delivery of Renee Zelweger that was annoying. She just wasn't witty enough in her banter, like she was a beat behind or something. She seemed very studied in her bad impersonation of a screwball comedy. I really enjoyed the way George Clooney directed (except for the keystone Cop-esque scene). But I reaaalllly enjoyed John Krasinski. He was natural and sincere and believeable and likeable. Clooney would have had a better movie with an actress who was more likeable and could handle the dialogue and have some chemistry with him onscreeen. Liked it overall though.

Clooney was completely self indulgent, there were times when the camera would not leave him, watching him size up Zellweger, his head movements, reminded me of a rooster strutting around a hen house....Zellweger HAD to have gotten a good pay day for this, um, movie, but I agree with another review, her constant pouting and eye squints made her look like she sucked a lemon before each scene...Krazinski was very good...one can only wonder what was going through his mind when he first saw this movie....."and these two are superstars?????"

This movie easily makes it into my all time 20 worst movies. It had 4 or 5 good one liners and that was it. EVERYTHING in the script was totally predictable and all I felt was embarrassment for Clooney and Zellwiger that they could make such a horrific film. And my date spoke up before I could, 30 minutes in as I was biting my tongue not wanting to spoil it if she was enjoying the mess. She wasn't.

Some good one liners. They set the 20's scene very good with the music and the old footage giving it an interesting aspect to the film.. It's funny to see pro football before it became an American obsession and without rules kind o evolve in to the game it is today. Good family movie. it's worth your money. I give it 3 and a half maybe 4 stars. It's worth seeing.

The verbal sparing between Clooney and Zellweger lacked energy and chemistry especially when compared to Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell in His Girl Friday. Screwball comedy is not Clooney's forte. Zellweger was distracting with her pouty red lips and squinty eyes. Krazinski has what it takes for the long haul. He is a pleasure to watch. He emotes sensitivity.

"its nice to be 1st every now and then, especially when you get the chance to write an unbiased review, not clouded with the constant negativity that is very common to this format, not having to read the, dont waist your time, money, or brain power reviews which are far to common and degrading, just so some morron can view his feedback looked at by others, with all that said, i liked it, theres some good acting there but not anywhere exceptional to go with it
