Plot Summary

It's the ultimate buddy cop movie except for one thing: they're not cops.  When two struggling pals dress as police officers for a costume party, they become neighborhood sensations.  But when these newly-minted “heroes” get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives, they must put their fake badges on the line.

  • This alleged comedy takes a long time before it gets its first laugh in. The first half is a complete slog and the ending is insulting, but there are a few semi-arresting sketch comedy moments. show more

  • The screenplay co-written by Nicholas Thomas and director Luke Greenfield fails to mine the potentially humorous premise for the necessary laughs, with nearly all of the gags falling thuddingly flat. show more

  • The film is confusingly and sloppily put together, edited down to the point that the few genuine jokes of Let’s Be Cops are given precious little time to breathe, before zipping into the next sequence of increasingly irrational events. show more

This movie is absolutely terrible. You'd have to be a 12-year old boy to appreciate the repetitive toilet humor. I left halfway through crawling out on my knees and elbows.

I've read some of the reviews. Here's the bottom line - Do you like silly action comedies? This one could be the next classic... Everyone leaving the theater was laughing and talking about how it's one of the best in a while. Go see it for yourself. If you're a sophisticated movie goer who enjoys intellectual movies, then don't bother. If you want to be entertained, then go!

Didn't care for this movie. Felt it needed more of something. Don't get me wrong, I did laugh, it was comical, but I would rather have watched this at home On Demand or on cable.
