Lifelines begins focused on a fly. It's each person in their microcosm. Kind of insulated against their fellow cellmates, aka family members. Each with their own distractions, and release valves. Camera work is indie and non-threatening , almost vidcam feel. Family negotiations continually spin. The plot entraps the viewer as 6th member, inside space of family therapy, where family falls

Village Voice
The film's befuddling direction and tone, queasy HD interiors, and tin-eared, often preposterous, screenplay prove disastrous. Full Review
Dennis Harvey
Mature in terms of production polish and pro performances, writer-director Rob Margolies' feature debut, Lifelines (until recently called "Wherever You Are"), stumbles in a familiar way: It crams in so many family dysfunctions and plot crises in search of cathartic impact that credibility is stretched to the breaking point. Kevin Thomas
Los Angeles Times
There's so much ranting and raving, all of it boring and trite. Full Review
Nathan Lee
The New York Times
Starts promisingly, with a sharp comedic bite and genuine compassion for this fraught family dynamic, but soon gives way to the kind of compressed, schematic psychodrama endemic to (if no more welcome on) the stage. Full Review
