  • Remember "Limitless," the 2011 thriller in which Bradley Cooper becomes a whirling killer dervish from a drug that lets him access 100 percent of his brain? Well, Lucy is basically the same movie with Scarlett Johansson in the Cooper role. It's not a good trade-off. show more

  • A full-out action movie - and a sober rumination on the nature of existence. It is both things, effectively and sincerely. show more

  • Scarlett Johansson is ideally cast as a rapidly evolving kick-ass hero in Lucy, a stylish action thriller that is equal parts dazzling and ludicrous. show more

I really wan to watch this movie as I feel it is not about using 100% of the brain but a shift in consciousness. I have tried a few times and I absolutely can't bear it, it is so loud and violent and very shocking for someone quite sensetive - not helped by my not sleeping well for weeks! Shame, maybe this could be explored without the person beccomning a maniacal killer!!

An embarrassingly, incredibly bad movie. What a waste... 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back. The scientist throughout, and Lucy the more she used more of her brainpower, spoke mindless, incoherent gibberish. How anybody with an even an ounce of science education or background could suspend disbelief enough to make this out as anything other than crap is beyond me. I'm not averse to good sci-fi or even comic book or cartoon heroes but this was bad beyond words. The supposedly "kick-ass" action and car-chase was totally predictable and formulaic and not all that good. Old Godzilla or Rodan movies have this beat by a mile. I love her but shame on Scarlett! Worst ever movie by Beeson and that's saying something. And a shame, too, because he's done some very nice stuff.
