While weighed down by digressions and contraptions, Man of Tai Chi is an adequate and ambitious effort from a first-time director, who could have enhanced his on-screen philosophical arguments with a bit more depth and done with a touch less of the admittedly riveting man-to-man melee. show more
Basically the anti-"Kill Bill." Both movies are quilted together from their auteurs' favorite Asian action flicks, but where Tarantino's was overheated, Reeves' is elegantly iced. show more
Man of Tai Chi is hugely entertaining. show more
Highly unoriginal movie and even the cinematography smelt so strongly of The Matrix that they might as well have called it Man of Matrix and have Keanu as Neo again. The public would have bought it better that way!
This movie stands or falls with it\'s martial arts and sadly in my opinion it falls. It is yet again a movie that tries to portray kung fu as the top martial art but doesn\'t reach the level of other adaptations. This movie could have been enjoyable with another actor such as tony ja.
