My 7 year-old was also traumatized. She was unable to sleep that night and was still crying in the morning about the movie. I recommend you don't take children under 11, and especially not animal lovers. Other than that, I think the movie was good for adults, but definitely not kid oriented.

WARNING! Don't read these reviews. I didn't see the movie thanks to all the dopes on here that reviewed it and spoiled the ending. It's called a "review" stupid, not a personal summary of the plot and conclusion. It's not like it's Titanic. Everyone knew the boat sank.

We were originally were going to see "bedtime stories" but it was sold out so we decided to see the other PG movie, "Marley and me." I thought it was aweful! My kids under the age of 9 and I, thought it was a funny movie about a dog getting into mischief. The previews and actors promoting the movie mislead us all into believing it was a family movie. It was titled with a PG rating. It had the word "sex, humping, scences of a miscarriage, post-pardom depression, name calling, repetittive swear words, almost all nude skinny dipping and putting a dog down to sleep with a needle.

YOU ARE ALL WRONG. OBVIOUSLY, YOU-ALL HAVE NEVER HAD A REAL DOG. A DOG THAT TKINKS YOU ARE PART OF THEIR LIVES, NOT SOME DAMND DESTROYER LIKE YOU SEE IN THE HOOD. THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT ENJOY KIND, GENTLE AND SMART DOGS AND THEY ARE EVERYWHERE EXCEPT THE HOOD. DUMP THE HOOD, BROAD.........

This movie was such a good surprise. I ran through a variety of emotions from laughing out loud to crying like a baby at the end. It really brings into light the amazing relationship between dogs and humans.

I enjoyed the movie, Yes it was sad , but it is the cycle of life.However hard this may be for some perople to understand. The rateing is PG, this should have told you that this is not a movie for kids.

I think this movie was terrible, especially that I went to see it with my 10 year old daughter because it was rated PG, which it shouldn't be rated. There is too much sexual content in the movie...pregnancies..shown after they show the couple kissing, loss of a baby while showing the couple going to get the first sonogram and finding out there is no heartbeat, then they go on vacation to a getaway with separate beds that they both wind up sharing and next you hear the bed squeaking away while they show a picture of the Blessed mother...next what do you know she is pregnant again. Then the whole seen comes about the dog getting old and eventually dying...and showing how the dog is put to sleep by injection. The movie left me with too much to explain to a 10 year old girl. I think there should have been more warning as to the content of the movie and possibly changing the rating. I am so disgusted!!!
