Movies that are based on true stories can go a few different directions. Clint Eastwood did an amazing job with the casting of the movie characters.... Especially using Lady Chablis as herself. Kevin Spacey was wonderful as a southern, and John Cusack portrayed his fictional character with the correct amount of suspicion. Overall the characters were easy to fall for and the story seemed to flow. Unfortuanetly, the story itself is not all that exciting. With Spacey"s portay of JIM the movie flowed to the finish. However there has been better!!! Savannah however was the big winner with this film! Full Review

I liked the movie but then I watch as much Kevin Spacey that I can get. The story has inspired me to visit Savannah and "see for myself."

Eastwood has captured a peculiar yet involving slice of life. Full Review

An outstanding lean film trapped in a fat film's body.Full Review

Always entertaining. But someone seems to have thrown away the metronome into the Spanish moss outside. "Midnight," which finally draws to a halt after two and a half hours, has a lot of acting, a bit of soul and no rhythm.Full Review

Clint Eastwood's film is a determined attempt to be faithful to the book's spirit, but something ineffable is lost just by turning on the camera: Nothing we see can be as amazing as what we've imagined.Full Review

Like the South, the movie is sumptuous and somnolent.Full Review
