the movie is incredible. having seen the documentary that won the oscar and living through the historical timeline of the film, the accuracy was on the money. the ensemble was perfect, and even though i am not a sean penn fan, his work deserves an oscar. he's come a long way from the homophobic actor he once was. it is outstanding.

I see the reviews on here reflect the same type of thinking and hatred that the movie deals with, Just proves that the same hate and remains thirty years later, The movie is fabulous, Van Sant carefully directs the film without being too blatantly offensive to the masses. Sean Penn, James Franco and the rest of the csst are terrific. it deserves to best film without a doubt. as for the hate mongers that continue to keep your minds closed. I hope God finds it in his heart to forgive you

This is an important true story that needs to be told and heard by everyone. The acting is excellent, really captures the 1970's San Fransisco and what Harvey was all about; Equality and Love. The entire cast is excellent and if you have seen the Documentary "the Life & Times of harvey Milk" it really follows the facts. Well Done Gus Van Sant!

Got milk? Don't worry, I do after sitting through this awful movie for 2 hours. Sean Penn is a great actor but here it looked like he just re-enacted his role of the mentally-challenged Sam. And there were no identifiable gay actors in the entire movie. The movie is about gay rights and the struggles they faced, and I think it is a particulat affront to them and the cause by not enlisiting gay actors. What's the matter Hollywood? You don't have to make a movie about everyone. this would have been better off being a documentary.

Best movie of the year, by far! Sean Penn and James Franco were absolutely amazing. Couldn't have been a better cast. Loved it.

Terrible. Just proves that hollywood is an ultra liberal business in which most of the writers are gay. Thus all the bogus stars from the critics..Politically correct. One star for Shawn Penn who is a good actor.
